We continue our series of Imagery exercises from The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery called Deep Cleansingfrom Infancy. Angels’ Meditation is the first exercise. Its intention is that we begin to know ourselves through the eyes of our Guardian Angels.
Colette offers us a unique opportunity with this exercise: To know our Guardian Angels. “In the realm of created beings, Guardian Angels are pure spirits, and like us have intelligence and will. They are intermediaries between God and mankind,” notes John Hardon, S.J. in his Contemporary Catholic Catechism. “While their immediate focus is spiritual and supernatural, it includes concern for our bodily and earthly affairs, insofar as these pertain to salvation and sanctification,” Hardon further notes.

Today we begin a new chapter of Colette’s Imagery exercises from The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery. It’s called Deep Cleansing From Infancy:To Reverse Destructive Behavior.
The chapter begins with a quote from Colette’s poem, “The Kiss of Life” and goes like this: “Night and Day…I am waiting for you to give the kiss of life.” What better kiss may we receive than the opportunity these exercises offer to begin life anew.
At the end of the Deep Cleansing Imagery is…
The Imagery Exercise featured this week on Face Book, called: Tensing (for releasing and relaxing)
Now, let’s begin to Image.

Since I received no feedback on the Imagery presented so far, I’ve concluded that its going well enough for you to feel confident in moving on. So this week we do the second chapter of exercises that are published on pages 24 and 25 in The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery. To Life: To Live begins with a quote from Colette’s poem, Creation. “I change all the time. And you change also. Every thing existing is changing too, and we depend on each other.”
These exercises carry the potential for change that brings about healing, self-discovery and personal development, the hallmark of Colette’s work.

We’re privileged to live in a world filled with wonder and beauty. So today, let’s look at Mirroring as a way of observing the positive aspects of ourselves that enhance others lives as well as our own. With that as our intention, we begin to see acts of wonder and delight all around us. Acts that reflect the energy we’re sharing with the world.
Let’s watch for little acts of kindness coming our way. The super market clerk who sees us searching for an item and cheerfully comes to our aid. The greeting from someone coming toward us. The unexpected feedback from a co-worker or friend for listening when she needed someone. Even a bird singing in the garden or in the park.
I love walking along a city street watching the wonder of small children who stop many times as they make their way. They inspect a stone as if it were a jewel, as it well may be. Or stand mesmerized as someone shines the brass on a door. They engage in conversations with people wise enough to walk at their same pace and who seem to see the same wonder in things.
When we view the world in this way, it’s a reflection of the brightness we carry within. And in turn, other people and other small wonders are brought into our field. Let’s revere these moments, acknowledging that our mirror is reflecting the best within us.
Happy Mirroring, Barbarah
This week’s other blog presents audio imagery of To Life: To Live, the second chapter of Colette’s Imagery exercises published in The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery.
Mirroring calls our attention to behavior that’s out of character with all we can be. We recognize the behavior by our reaction to it in others. At first it may annoy us. Ignore it, and the volume increases, bringing this denied part of ourselves to our attention.
I allow myself to become irritated with political candidates who take too long to make their point. Looking at them as a mirror, I realize I sometimes write more than it takes to make a point. (It’s a synchronicity that the Little Life-Changing Experience blogs came to me now.)
Imagery may bring out denied behaviors no longer serving you, so be alert to your reactions to people and note them in your Personal Imagery Journal. Changing the behavior may come with your awareness of it. Or you may try reversing , which we’ll review after the next chapter of Colette’s exercises.
From The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery, Page 80: LIFE AND LIGHT
Close your eyes and breathe out one time. See yourself becoming moderate and obtaining balance in all dimensions of living, except when searching for truth. Breatheout one time. See yourself setting aside a half-minute a day, twice a day, for quieting Imagery. Breathe out one time. See yourself reducing now the frequency of stressful life changes. Breathe out one time and open your eyes.
This week’s blog is a synchronicity. I was reviewing the posted Tools for Spiritual Living to see where I wanted to go with this blog, when out-of-the-blue I’m writing the phrase “Little Life-Changing Experiences.”
I feel excited about these words and wonder how they’ll fit in the blog. Within minutes a package arrives in a smallish box. I’m curious because the only package I’m expecting is a bed pillow, which is usually–well you know–big.
This little package is a gem. The My Pillow Company carefully rolled the pillow to fit in a smallish box. They even eliminated the hassle of finding the end of its wraping by placing a sticker there that reads “Peel here”. I follow their lead and poof – the pillow breathes in some air and becomes the soft, supportive pillow the company said it would be. I’m tickled!
A SYNCHRONICITY EMERGES
I realize that a few hours ago, while at Staples, I wandered into the Martha Stewart Home Office collection. Small to medium-sized jars, decorative boxes, even small wall envelopes to gather little things often lost, all kept calling me. Every item was beautifully designed and in lovely colors. I’m so taken by these little things that I make a comment on Face Book about this great Martha Stewart Home Office collection.
Three happenings with “little” in a few hours, each leaving me with a feeling of lightness, each beautifully crafted and treated with careful consideration. That’s a synchronicity. (The “Little Life-Changing Experiences” line; the pillow packaging; and the beautiful little things in the Martha Stewart Home Office collection all carry commonalities. They’re little and they’ve been handled with care.)
The message? It’s time to pay attention to the little things in life. A synchronicity may seem little as a single happening, but when linked with others they tell a story that’s uniquely our own. And often are the answer to our hopes, wishes and prayers.
Watch for synchronicities in your life. They may be answers to your Imagery. They’re happenings that are not the same, but which seen together, carry some common thread. And yes. They can be life-changing.

This week we complete the Imagery exercises in the first chapter of The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery called Personal Restoration. The exercises include Evolution of Humor: To Become Psychologically Sound; and Sexology: Survival of the Human Species – For Resolving Relationships.
LOOK FOR SEXOLOGY: SURVIVAL OF THE HUMAN SPECIES ON FACE BOOK…
This exercise concludes the chapter Personal Restoration and is the exercise selected for Imagers who chose to do a single Imagery exercise for the week. You’ll also find it on the wall of my Facebook page (Barbara L. Fedoroff).
FEATURED NEXT WEEK: A TOOL FOR SPIRITUAL LIVING
For the next two weeks we’ll take a break from Imagery so what we’ve done can be assimilated. During that time, we’ll work with Tools for Spiritual Living. These are designed to help you bring your Imagery experiences into daily life. Imagery opens us to discovering and changing belief systems no longer benefiting us. Tools for Spiritual Living alert us to the signposts of and for change in our lives. The combination has worked effectively for many Imagers, including me in Dr. Epstein’s classes at AIMI.
INTERESTED IN A BLOG-BASED IMAGERY GROUP?
A few of you expressed interest in joining an Imagery Group I mentioned several weeks ago. The benefit of a group is the insight members gain from each others shared images. This is a new experience for me, so suggestions are welcome.
If you’re interested in joining a blog-based Imagery Group, please share examples of your imagery with me through the Comments section of this blog–or e-mail me at fedzie@ptd.net. If you choose, your imagery experiences will remain anonymous.

Today we’re completing the group of Imagery exercises called Being or Not Being: For Mindbody Health and Self Development from the first section of The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery.
You’ll notice that most of the groups of exercises in this section are done with your eyes remaining closed throughout. For example, Exercises 7 and 11 have two parts done with eyes remaining closed; Exercise 9, five parts; and Exercises 10, three parts.
When Colette’s exercises are presented this way, you maintain a continuity throughout. Although it may seem easier to do them individually, try your best to do them as Colette instructed.
My aim is to complete the first chapter of Colette’s work, Personal Restoration, in the next two weeks and take a week off for you to assimilate the work you’ve done, before moving on to the next chapter. During that time we’ll review some of the Tools for Spiritual Living that can support you in making changes suggested by your images.
I’d like a few volunteers to share your experiences with the exercises we’ve done. You can remain anonymous, if you wish. By volunteering, we’ll be able to personalize the Tools for Spiritual Living to the experiences of our group and gain the insight of each others discoveries. We’ll also be gaining a significant benefit of a group Imagery experience.
So please……..share your discoveries!
To volunteer, contact me in the Comment section of this blog or e-mail me at fedzie@ptd.net. Sharing is essential to the creation of a blog-based Imagery Group.

TODAY’S AUDIO IMAGERY IS CALLED THE WORK OF INNER JOURNEY
…from Page 19 in The Encyclopedia of Mental Imagery, and is part of the chapter Personal Restoration. After doing your Imagery, consider finding time within the day to re-listen to the exercises and write them down with notations and/or drawings that represent your images. (Use colored pencils for the drawings.) You may discover new revelations as you go through this process.
Over the years, I’ve used by Imagery notes as touchstones. Sometimes they reflect closure of an issue. Other times they point out another layer to be peeled away with the healing power of Imagery and intention. Inevitably, they remind me that I’m a work in progress and that’s okay. Each day is a new beginning. An opportunity to start fresh with a positive intention and Imagery exercise.
The titles of this chapter and group of exercises, Personal Restoration and The Work of Inner Journey, suggest an intention. You may begin by connecting yourself with the Divine, if that’s your way, stating e.g. “Heavenly Father as I do today’s Imagery please help me to look inward so I may be restored in spirit, mind and body”. Alter this to suit your personal situation. Or state “My intention in doing today’s imagery is (whatever that is for you). Now you’re ready to begin Imagery.
